When you’re building a home for yourself and your family, you get to decide what you include in the layout. No one is stopping you if you want six bathrooms and three bedrooms! Unless you’re living off the grid, you will need a system that provides your home with water and electricity. Before completing the home build, contractors must install and turn on your electricity. If you’re going to have running water, you need a place for the wastewater to go. Not to mention your sewage needs to go somewhere, too! Energy Efficient Windows

In general, windows provide beauty, light, and warmth to your home. However, choosing energy-efficient windows can lower your utility bills, saving you money in the long run. This critical feature to include when building a home can prevent air leakage and ensure that your home is as efficient as possible.

Roof Insulation

Another feature that could save a homeowner money is installing insulation in their roof/attic. Without proper insulation, rain, snow, and moisture will accumulate in this area and cause mildew and mold growth. Insulation can also keep warm air inside during the colder months and cold air in during the warmer months.

Smart Home Technology

There’s a shift happening with smart home technology. This could include smart thermostats, security cameras, automatic blinds, etc. These features aren’t essential, but they can make your life easier, so take advantage of them!
